The last Zenith shower caddy I purchased rusted within a couple of months after purchasing it. Will this one rust also?

Make sure to buy the stainless caddy, not the chrome one.  We formerly had a chrome one, from Linens 'N Things that rusted.  So far, this stainless steel one from Amazon has not rusted.  Almost always pleased with products we get from Amazon!

Question 2

What is the width? I'm hanging this over a towel bar instead of the door, so I need to make sure it fits.

The bars that go over the shower wall, door, or a towel bar are 8 inches apart.  The baskets that hang on the rack overlap the edge of the bars and measure 12 inches across.

Question 3

Do you think this caddy will work on a towel bar?  Are there hooks that would be on the outside of the shower enclosure? Thank you.

A towel bar IN THE SHOWER would support this caddy. Although there are those hooks on the back side of the caddy, they probably wouldn't interfere with hanging the caddy. The rear facing hooks are not going to be useful, however, for towels. (Using large pliers to collapse the hooks a bit is possible and would also help ensure the caddy hangs from the towel bar with enough clearance.)   If you hung this caddy from a towel bar on the OUTSIDE of the shower, there are those small hooks for a facecloth facing forward, and rear facing hooks which are, again, probably no longer useful in this setup.In either setup, the caddy is narrow, and your original towel bar would still be available for a towel. (This, of course depends on how wide the towel bar is.)     Hope this helps . . .  I tried to fill in some missing elements in your question.

Question 4

Can you measure the width of the hooks? My shower door is thick, I am afraid it would not work for that. In this case it will be completely useless..

Works perfect for me, our shower door measures 2-1/4" thick and the shower caddy hangs nicely.
