Fairies to Paint or Color (Dover Art Coloring Book)

I love this book. I was trying to encourage my talented nephew to drag himself away from the computer and develop his artistic abilities. I sent him a couple of other Dover books which he really liked, so bought this for him as well. The only thing - I shipped it to my address instead. When I saw the pretty designs, I decided to keep it. I color in the early morning: I can plan my day as I color. My husband saw a couple of pages that I colored and told me they were beautiful and said I should frame. I hadn't thought about it, but upon looking at a couple, I decided that I will. This is a wonderful way to have a custom piece in my bathroom. Usually, I would cross stitch a piece, but that takes a long time: coloring is immediate gratification.

I think I returned this due to the paper quality

This book of Fairies is very pretty and there is only one picture on one side of the page. I love that fact because I use markers a lot and they bleed through, therefore a piece of blank paper should be inserted between pages if using markers. The pages are perforated and are very easy to color. The price is very reasonable. I started using this book January 30, 2016, I love it.

My students love these high quality, one-sided drawings! They can use markers or paint without the picture on the other side bleeding through. And the pages are good white paper with a grey lined sketch, instead of black. Dover offers 13 different books like this and with the 4-for-3 offer and Super Saver shipping the price is excellent. My only negative comment is the perforations are a pain. After tearing and ruining the first picture I tried different methods to remove them intact. Finally I just cut them out with an X-Acto knife cutting beyond the perforation and then trimming them with scissors.

I was halfway through this book (using watercolor pencils) when I began looking for a new project. Amazon has a wide variety of coloring books for adults like me who relax by doing two things at once. After evaluating at least a dozen books, I decided that I liked the one I owned best and ordered another copy--like buying the same pair of shoes in two colors. The fairies in this book are feminine and fanciful and are in interesting and detailed natural settings. It will be fun to see how my color palette changes from the first book to the second.

I purchased this coloring book as a gift and was so impressed by the quality of the prints that I purchased another one for my sister. The pictures are detailed, with a lot of small spaces to color, so colored pencils work really well. It's a great gift for a child or an adult who likes to spend time relaxing with a simple artistic endeavor. I like to make a copy of the print on a high quality artist paper and use artist quality colored pencils to make the final product really stand out.

The paper on this is way too thin to use for watercolors without horrible buckling. It's not much thicker than printer paper. I feel like the "to paint" part is dishonest The drawings are nice, and they're only on one side of the page so would be fine for markers. But I can't give more than two stars to something that I bought because of how it was advertised and doesn't meet that purpose at all.

Well again a very good book all round, with this one, I would say Age 7 + Adults would feel differently more so if they like the garden. They would like to do the colours of the flowers. But as for painting the book No as the paper is far to thin & not of watercolour quallity. Pencil would be fine, also felt tips would be no good either.

It's a decent coloring book for adults. The drawings are somewhat cute and the grey lines sort of disappear if you want them to. I'd recommend it if you are a beginner or just color for fun :) All pages are single sided, which is great. Paper is of good quality, with a good " tooth".

Livre de coloriage aux feutres et au crayon impeccable. Feuilles détachable ce qui est pratique car on ne abîme pas les autres qui suivent. Les feuilles sont assez épaisse pour colorier aisément.

Love the pictures. Paper is heavier than most which makes it ok for paint. Only thing I wish it had is more pictures. Darcy May books are generally great. The lines are lighter in colour so they don't take away from your colouring.

Ce livre de coloriage correspond totalement à mes attentes . Les dessins sont superbes ,les fées sont mises en scène dans la nature . Je le colorie avec beaucoup de plaisir . Les pages sont détachables ce qui est très pratique , depuis j'ai commander d'autres livres du même éditeur .
