Does it work well for pistols? I have a S&W M&P Shield 9 mm and a Dan Wesson Model 15-2 357 Mag revolver. Can I use it easily one-handed?

I find it works best for cleaning, but I have no problems using it for my Hi-Point 40 or Ruger SR40. It seems a little unstable for mounting a pistol or carbine for range firing. Hope this helps

Would it work for an sks?

Most likely yes. Works for 10/22, AR-15, Ruger bolt actions, etc.

Does it work well for shotgun

Works great! I have a Mossberg 590 18" barrel with Magpul stock and forend, sidesaddle shell holder, mini reflex sight, and flashlight all mounted on it, and it fits quite well. Great "third hand" to hold the gun for reassembly of those fiddly cartridge stops and interrupters.

So will this work with cleaning and sighting in scopes, or just cleaning your firearms?

It's just for cleaning and working on your firearms. But it is wonderful. Nice and light and compact. I do take it to the range with me, but not for sighting in my scope. If you want a great stand, get the Caldwell Matrix.
