This is generally a pretty heavy duty vise that is substantial and weighs about 25.6, not the 26 lbs 7 oz advertised (12kg). The package came damaged but it's a solid piece of steel so it doesn't seem affected. The base plate for hammering is quite large, but the spindle on the vise part turns a little stiff and has some wiggle in it, it may or may not be functionally square for some items. I will test it further to determine if the wiggle impacts the clamping. Overall, for the sale price of $41 it appears a good buy.

Broke just out of warranty..
Well had to update my review... it broke and it broke bad! Snapped hald the jaw right off... not too impressed as of course it broke 3 months after the warranty was up...
