Very amazing tool first time I've used one this has been holding up really well. Removes wood super fast. Great for shaping wood handles

First off, yes, it has a plastic handle. I don’t know why people who work with wood should be upset by this. Make yourself a handle with wood if the plastic is an issue. With that being said, this is a great product. Both sides chew through wood very well. I’m currently working on a walking stick that is made from old dried out oak. It’s a little bigger around that I want, and my draw knife was struggling to cut through it. That is no issue for the Shinto rasp. It does what it is supposed to and it does it well. It has two sides with one side being finer and less aggressive than the other. Both sides a quite effective though. 5 stars every day. Great product!

There's a reason so many woodworkers swear by this saw rasp. It is well made and both sides work very well for their intended purpose. The course side removes material very quickly and the smooth side leaves a surprisingly fine finish that depending on what your project is you don't need to touch it with anything else.

I bought this because Paul Sellers recommended it, and it's a nice file. It's very aggressive and removes wood quickly when you use the rougher side. The soother side isn't THAT smooth, but it gives a nice finish. It seems to be working well. It seems long for a rasp, but I like the length. Sometimes it's hard to start, but that because it's aggressive. The main problem with this rasp is in shaping narrow items, which can fit in between the plates. It just doesn't work very well in things smaller than about 1/2" in width. For thicker items, it's great.

This is a very aggressive tool. Expect to do finishing work to get rid of the marks this tool leaves behind. Both sides are aggressive. It is a nice tool though. It will be used when I need to remove a lot of material fast. I’m happy I have it and is a great value.

It does an amazing job of removing material and smoothing it out. coarse and fine sides. it doesn't work accurately on curves but it's not designed for that

Very disappointed to receive cheaper plastic handle version rather than the wood one pictured on the advertisement. Went back to order page and noticed that it is careful not to describe what the handle is made of. In Australia, this kind of mis-selling selling is illegal. International sellers must think they can get away with it because of the hassle to return items.
