Why is the cup holder so far back? Do you find that it’s a hard reach for the kids?

No. My child has a well reach for the cap holder. 4 ages. For your reference. Thanks.

What is the measurement from inside arm rest to inside arm rest? My child has wide hips.

The measurement from inside armrest to inside armrest is 12 1/2"

Is this rigid latch system compatible with a Subaru CrossTrek (XV)?

Yes, it is rigid and is compatible with any car (all cars that are modern in the last 18 years or so) that has LATCH. For example, if you are trying to use in a car over 20 years old, it most likely doesn’t have LATCH anchors for infant/toddler/booster seats.
