Does this work just like a fabric marker?

I am not familiar with fabric markers. I use these pens to mark clothes & belongings at a nursing home. It doesn't wash away easily.

Does this marker have a deep smell like the non fabric ones?

No they do not. These markers were perfect and did not smell or bleed.

Do they have this that will show up on black clothes

Use search terms "laundry marker for clothing white". That's how I found this listing, except I substituted black instead of white. The white ones may be a different brand. Check reviews before purchasing if you are not familiar with the brand.

Will these stay on Kevlar without completely washing out?

I am not sure. If the Kevlar is coated in fabric it may stay on.
