I got this Biblical Clay Oil Lamp with Jar as a gift for a friend, and it was absolutely perfect. It's very well made! The glazing on the outside is perfect. There is an bare spot on the bottom and a small bit inside you can take note of. These spots effect absolutely nothing. At least I've not noticed any problems. As with any lamp it's best to put it on a small dish to catch any leakage. It does not leak much and is perfectly normal. To not opt out of this product just because you're worried about leaks. It's fine! DO NOT USE STANDARD LAMP OIL LIKE KEROSENE ON CLAY LAMPS! That is unless you want it to turn into a little campfire. It's also very durable! While I was away one of my cats knocked it off a fairly high table. Abt 3-4 feet. On its way down it hit the wooden arm of a chair then smacked onto some thin carpet. I was absolutely terrified! Then to my relief there wasn't any damage to it. Or at the very least none I could notice or have noticed since. On another note, this us just my personal preference but I really like the odd imperfections that come from handmade products such as this. The slightly off handle, the bald spot on the inside, and the tiny pebble that juts out slightly on the right side that I've decided to name Henry. These little imperfections make feel feel closer to the work. It's a reminder it was made by another human being. Call it the mark of the maker if you will. It's not perfect and that's exactly what makes it perfect. My only complaint is the wick it comes with. I don't know why it's waxed. It makes it very difficult to wet and is so thin it falls in and goes out when it gets low. Which I guess one could say is a safety feature. What I did is I decided to make my own wicks out if 100% cotton thread. There are 2 ways I like to use and I'll describe them here. For 1 thread take the thread and fold it in half. Then start twisting it ALOT and if it start to twist into itself pull it apart. Do not undo your twists! Fold the twisted thread onto itself and let it twist into itself now and tie it on the end. Feel free to do another twist and fold before you tie it until you have your desired thickness. For two strings like the one in my picture take 2 threads and put them on top of each other and twist them. Unlike with 1 thread we don't fold before the first twisting. When you have it we'll twisted it let it twist into itself then you can choose to either tie it off or twist it again if you want it thicker. The ones you see in the image are thick! great little replica; will burn olive oil but needs the correct wick; it came with a thin, wax coated candle wick which is useless; sat on the shelf for a few months before I got around to buying the correct oil lamp wick; with that it worked great; I use this as a functional prop for bible study, and in this role it is really cool; although it is fired clay, be aware that it is still very permeable and if you leave olive oil in it overnight it will seep through; low odor and smoke, but I don't use it for long; will likely buy one of their glazed versions

This lamp is wonderful with very minimal oil leakage, just place it on a little clay or glass plate. One wick will burn for hours with minimal adjustments. Works great with the smokeless precut braided cotton wicks (also available on Amazon, very inexpensive) and olive oil ( can buy at any local supermarket)

These are a lovely pair of replicas. The flame isn’t smoky.

This is a really great representation of the original lamp. I will probably just use it as a prop because it does leak oil.

This is definitely hand made. A little smaller than I'd like and the wick that came with it was useless. And it's unglazed so oil will leak through. But, after I sealed it with beeswax and inserted a proper thick round cotton wick it now works outstanding! Burns clean, no smoke, the wick burns extremely slowly, and puts out as much visible light as a candle but will burn much longer than a candle and doesn't drip oil. I have it sitting on a glass candle pad and it's not leaked a drop of oil in days.

The lamp is lovely but it did not arrive with olive oil and gift bag.

The handle was broken and in pieces. The picture is also misleading on the size.

I recieve it in normal box if this product is from holy land the presentation should be better

Beautifully crafted little lamp. I put olive oil and rosemary essential oil in mine and it works great.
