And ever since I've dosed this, my corals haven't grown as fast as they used to. But for new tanks I would stay away for awhile and instead buy brightwell clean which has the bacteria to broaden your bacteria biodiversity. The enzymes in this product eat at the nitrates and turn it into nitrogen gas which completely eliminates nitrates so if you want some nitrates, use this product with caution. I had a huge nitrate problem and fish were dying daily. I was trying everything I could to help them, doing drastic water changes every other day, using filter additives and other products but nothing seemed to help and they kept dying. I could literally tell a difference within one day of using it. The water became a bit clearer and the fish seemed to be in less distress. But by the second day of dosing my neon tetras, who had been gasping for breath and swimming sideways, were swimming normally again!!! I had lost most of the school over the previous week and thought they were goners for sure but they came back to and it’s day four now and I haven’t lost one more fish! They’re all swimming normally now, the water looks so much clearer and my light is shining very brightly through the tank! I can’t recommend this product enough!! It literally saved my fish’s lives and helped me emotionally as I felt so guilty for losing so many of them.
