I heard a program on National Public Radio, in December 2022, extolling the virtues of tart dried cherries for nutrients and antioxidants. I ordered this and two other brands. One brand - meh - had sugar added. It's not a lot, but it was enough to make the difference, so I won't be ordering it again. Then, I tried THIS brand. I like that they come in single serve packets, great for lunches. BUT, they have sunflower oil added, and that left an oily residue, which to me is very unpleasant. Also, they added fruit juice concentrate for sweetening. I wanted TART, not sweet. Also the price is high considering you only get 5 packets! I guess third time is the charm, I found a brand that is NOT oily and has NO sugar added. So I've permanently switched to the third brand.

I recently purchased a package of dried cherries and I really enjoyed them, especially because they were packaged individually. My only issue is that I bit down on a pit. I looked over the entire the package, but I didn’t see a warning that it may contain pits. I wrote to the company and they responded very quickly. Their response was that their “QA team have stringent process in place such as X-rays and metal detection as well as checking for visible defects at every step and all microbiological tests are conducted prior to sending for member's consumption. As stated on the outer packaging (not the individual portion packs), although every care is taken to remove pits, in rare cases it is possible some may occur.” So if you purchase the dried cherries, please be careful because there’s no warning on the individual packages that they may contain a pit.
