Will this be able to record phone calls so the recording is audible when played back?

this way it will play even if you don't turn on the phone's speaker function. Because I myself tried to record the sound after turning on the recorder and putting it in the inside pocket of the jacket. The sound quality is very good. Even with a hand-held amplifier, you only need one earpiece to listen to it.

How do you playback the recording? Is it through the recorder itself or do you have to plug it in to a computer?

You will need to plug in the earphone and press and hold the '+' & '-' buttons at the same time, then you can see the flashing purple light turns into slowing flashing red light. This means the recorder is now ready to play the recorded file.

Hi i can't get this on to my pc and in my sons pc (win & mac) i'm not sure if the usb connector is faulty or if it won't work at all. please help

I’ve been using (win) not (Mac) and had no issues. Try using a different cable maybe the one you have it’s faulty.

it only recorded files in WAV file format, can it play music in other file format?
