Is this model made in Japan?

I don't know but they are a great pair of nail clippers very sharp and worth the money we have 2 pairs

Am I the only one who's nails have continued to split and shred, despite using these? I feel they are a complete waste of money.

I've had my clippers since May 2009 and have used them regularly with no problems at all. Keeps my nails in excellent condition. They cut as well today as they did when I first purchased them. Forgive me, I don't want to sound impertinent, but perhaps it would be worth consulting a professional regarding your nails.
