Outstanding EV charger
I had researched home EV chargers for several months prior to buying an EV, and decided on the ChargePoint HomeFlex charger, based on professional and user reviews. I was not disappointed. This Level 2 charger is well-built and works perfectly. I highly recommend it. The trickiest part was the timing. I ordered the charger just after making the EV purchase, and also hired a licensed master electrician to install it (highly recommended). Until it was installed, I could only use public chargers, the closest of which is 50 miles away, or the emergency 120V adapter that came with my vehicle (which takes forever like a trickle charge) so it limited the use of my new car for a while. The electrician discovered we needed an upgrade in our electrical service, put in a second circuit breaker box, and laid new wiring to accommodate the charger. Of course, the carport is on the opposite end of the house from the original circuit breaker, which was overloaded. It ended up costing more than I anticipated, but it was worth it to have a competent electrician thoroughly check the loads and make sure the electrical system is safe. The electrician ran into some confusion in the written instructions and contacted the ChargePoint tech support, but it was eventually straightened out, and it installed without further problems and connected to the ChargePoint app on my phone. The ring around the charger's holster for the cord plug glows green constantly to show it is ready to charge. It has a 25' cord, and when it's connected and charging, the base unit pulses blue. The ChargePoint app is easy to use when charging, and shows how much electricity you're using and how much it costs from your utility company. So far it has cost under $5 for an 80% charge (recommended by the vehicle manufacturer), which brings my car to over 300 miles of usable travel. You can use the same app for ChargePoint public charger locations, which cost more than doing it at home, but it's still been under $10 for a charge--a lot less than filling up a gas tank. Charge time for the home Level 2 charger takes about 5-6 hours total for a full charge; at the public Level 3 charger, about 30-50 minutes (Level 3 chargers vary in power). There are three different options for purchasing this charger: hard-wired, or two different 240V plug options. I opted for the hard-wired one. If there's already a plug near where you're using it, you can go that way, but hard-wired worked great for me and was easier and less expensive for the electrician. The hard-wired version also provides slightly more current to the EV than the plug options. I would recommend meeting with your electrician before deciding on which version to buy. Overall, I am delighted with the ChargePoint HomeFlex charger. It's built sturdily, works seamlessly and keeps me on the road. I highly recommend it.

Works great. Pretty simple install.
I drive a 2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line. I bought this about a year ago, more on a whim than a necessity. Level one charging has been perfectly adequate for my general needs. This is really a convenience I don't require, but still wanted. A friend of mine drives a VW ID.4 and uses this same charger, and I guess I had some charger envy. I may have also been a little bit intoxicated when I hit "pay." Anyway, a neighbor who is a licensed contractor was going to install for me. After about 8 months of waiting on him to have time, I eventually did some Harry-Homeowner style education (I've moved 240v, but never installed new) and decided to wire this myself, with the help of my brother who isn't an electrician but is a union tradesman with electrical experience. We wired it on a 50a breaker, using 8 gauge THHN copper wire, and PVC conduit from the panel. It's about a 20 foot journey, and we had to work in a weird bend where the siding on the house meets some brickwork. The hardest part was pulling the wire, as it got hung up a bit on aforementioned bend. But once we got past that, it was straightforward. Two live wires and a ground. No polarity, no neutral. Tough to mess up. The way they have all the wires line up with each other inside the unit is a little bit weird-- green, red, and black enter from the power source in a different sequence than they exit to the charging cable-- but just pay attention to the manual. Also, as long as you have the ground in the right place, I don't think it should matter about red and black (or whatever you're using for your two live wires coming off the panel). But I hope your electrical education is more vast than just reading this review and hoping I'm right. Getting the unit to shake hands with the house power and the WiFi was easy, using ChargePoint's app. (You don't really need to use the professional installer app to get it to work, just the regular consumer one.) Once I plugged into the car, it's pulling at a pretty consistent 9.4kw. Almost exactly the estimated output for a 40a charge on a 50a breaker. I've been charging the car on a 110v household current for almost 2 years, and a 20-80% charge has taken about 36-40 hours. Now the same charge takes less than 6 hours. It seems it would be ever so slightly faster if I used a 70a breaker and 6 gauge wire, but I do all my charging overnight, and the difference in charge times is negligible enough that I can't justify the extra expense. I'd be asleep for those extra few minutes anyway. Also, to the naked eye, the wires to the plug don't appear to be larger than the 8 gauge I ran from the panel. So maybe that doesn't actually make a difference, and it's all in the breaker. I'll let actual electricians argue about that. Pretty happy with it. The cord is pliable enough, even in 30-40 degree Utah winter temperatures that it doesn't appear to be an issue. Though I did install inside the (unheated) garage. I can't say whether outside might present a bigger issue. I don't think it would. Also, with newer EVs all going with the Tesla style form factor, I was glad to see that when I buy something newer, I can replace the cable on this for around $200, instead of buying a whole new unit. Overall, it's sort of pricey, compared to some of the alternatives, but worth it to me for a trusted name in EV charging. No complaints.

Solid charger For MB EQS
Had electrician install in my garage. Installation was done without any issues. It charges my car at high speed. It looks nice. The cable is long the cable wraps onto the charger body. I use it to charge directly into my Mercedes Benz EQS 580. My daughter uses an adapter to charge her Tesla Y from it. She’s had no charging problems either. This unit was recommended to me by my sister. I’d recommend it to anyone else.

Would be a great product if not for the frustrating design flaw
I would love to give the product 5 stars, but unfortunately, due to what appears to be a design flaw along with poor customer service I will only give it 2 stars. When this charger works, it's a great product. I've experienced no issues charging our car and I appreciate the flexibility of being able to adjust the charge current to time the charging to finish just prior to leaving on a long journey. The ability to monitor and track charging costs is also very helpful. I've not used the scheduling functionality yet. Now for the downside - after approximately 8 months from installing the unit the WiFi connection failed. No matter how much troubleshooting I attempted I could not get the unit to reconnect to (or even recognize) the WiFi. After several calls to ChargePoint customer service (and appeasing them by following their non-sensical troubleshooting instructions) they agreed to send a replacement unit. The replacement arrived within a week or so. I noticed it was a previously returned unit (as it had scratches where it had previously been installed) and after installation the unit was dead on arrival and would not turn on. I contacted customer support again (again appeasing them by following their redundant troubleshooting steps) and they agreed that I should return the replacement and they would send another. I then reinstalled my original unit albeit without WiFi, so I could charge my car. Unfortunately, they closed the support ticket and reopened a new one. These tickets were not connected and so it was frustrating dealing with customer support having to explain the issues I was experiencing. After returning their unit to them, I was still hassled by emails for several weeks stating I needed to return the unit. Eventually, I had to explain to them that FedEx had delivered the unit and provided them the date of delivery and who had signed to accept the unit. This eventually stopped the emails. After waiting approximately 5 weeks and contacting customer support several times, they eventually sent me another replacement unit. After installation, this unit appeared to work fine. It started up without issues and connected to WiFi. I returned the original unit I purchased to them. Unfortunately, after several months now I still get hassled via email asking for me to return this unit. This is even after providing them the tracking information showing it had been delivered and who had signed for it. The replacement unit worked for approximately 6 weeks before disconnecting from WiFi as the original unit did. Frustrated with the experience of dealing with ChargePoint customer service, I resigned my self to using the Charger as a dumb charger (only being able to charge and not being able to monitor or control it over WiFi). However, after researching the issue on the internet forums it appears this is a very common issue with this product. I eventually found someone stating that by disconnecting the power for several days their unit would work again and reconnect to their WiFi. I decided to give this a try and viola! It worked again. There appears to be an obvious design flaw with this product - be it hardware or software, I am not sure. However, it appears that a simple reboot does not fix this issues with WiFi, but discharging the unit over an extended period of time does (sometimes). Currently my unit has dropped off WiFi and I cannot get it to reconnect. Therefore all features that require Wi-Fi (setting a charging schedule, changing charging amperage, notifications, etc.) do not work. Back to just being a dumb charger! It has been a frustrating experience working with this unit and with ChargePoint customer support. Therefore, I cannot recommend this product in favor of other EV charger on the market.

High-End Home EV Charger That Delivers Consistently
This ChargePoint HomeFlex charger has been exactly what I needed for convenient and fast home EV charging. It charges my car at around 30–37 miles per hour, which is a huge improvement over standard outlets. The build feels solid and of professional quality, and I love that it integrates smoothly with the ChargePoint app for monitoring sessions and firmware updates. Installation by a certified electrician was straightforward and reliable. The charger supports up to 50 amps on a 240 V line for fast charging but also works with lower-amp circuits depending on your setup. It handles all J1772 EVs out of the box and can be used with Tesla vehicles via adapter. So far, it's worked every time with no hiccups. In my experience, it performs exactly as advertised, charging quickly and consistently without fuss. This charger gives professional-level performance in a sleek, compact package. I’d recommend it to any EV owner who wants fast, dependable charging at home. Five stars all the way.

Well engineered product and well thought out for installers
This EV charger, CHP50-Hardwire version, or for that matter I am sure the plug in versions as well, are very well packaged and thought-out products. It comes complete with the screws, a drill bit for the proper predrilling for their 1/4" a 2" hex head lag bolts, even a hardened 3/8" driver bit that fits a standard drill or you can use a hand ratchet tool, and the self adhesive decals for the circuit breaker amps rating as well as the decal for the charger amp ratings setting. The instructions for the installation are easy to follow and complete with good drawings for easy identification. The Apple IPhone App for the ChargePoint user software is very easy to follow and intuitive. While standing next to the charge with my Iphone 12 Pro it easily connected via Bluetooth and then as part of the installation it showed available WiFi networks and you select yours and then enter your WiFi password. That worked with no hiccups. When you plug the connector into your EV car the LED ring around the charger unit goes from Green to Blue indicating a charge connection is going on. The ChargePoint app can show by the minute or less how many KWH's have been used while charging and an estimate, based on your EV car selection during the account profile, of how many miles you have of new charge as it is charging as well the time and cost. When the charge is done you can see the total KWH's, Miles, the Cost of the charge, if you set up your profile of your Utility and/or put in the cost/KWH. It also shows the Time in hours and minutes for the charge to complete. I have not used any of the ChargePoint scheduling as of yet. I have just done one charge of my EV so far and was doing just a basic plug in and letting the EV car control the charge and its completion. ChargePoint has one of the largest mobile station networks and their Home Flex charger like the one that I am doing this review for is well sold and reviewed and accepted by many and listed of the EV manufactures that Approve their charger. It has a 3 year warranty so lets see how it holds up. I will recommend this charger.

Charges our EVs with no issues
Have one in our garage for our EVs. App was a bit of a pain to setup as it kept being unable to detect WiFi. Took a while to get that resolved. Otherwise, no issues, does a great job charging our cars, and got it during a sale so saved some money, too.

Great customer service
Great customer service. My electrician had some questions about the installation so we called the 800 number. We waited five minutes and then they answered all of our questions. When the electrician was done, I had trouble connecting the app. I called the 800 number again and they picked up right away. It turned out that there was a conflict between my Apple Watch and the ChargePoint device. So I had to temporarily unpair my Apple Watch and then was able to connect to the charger. They sent accurate emails chronicling our discussion and kept track of the cases by my phone number So far it’s working exactly as promised. It’s a very slick piece of equipment and I’m glad I got it.
