Buy Lou Harrison - Por Gitaro - Suites for Tuned Guitars by John Schneider, Just Strings, Lou Harrison, None from desertcart's Classical Music Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: If you're a Harrison fan and completionist, or you're intrigued by the possible sound of a guitar tuned to just intonation, you will want to hear this disc once or twice. If you haven't heard a lot of Lou Harrison and are looking for someplace to start, i'd look elsewhere, and if owning discs you only listen to once very couple of years seems wasteful to you, maybe you should buy something else. That said, this is something of a rarity, so your library is unlikely to have it, so if you need to scratch that itch, that's up to you. These are a lot of short solo pieces transcribed for guitar, and while they make perfectly painless background noise, they don't bear a lot of close listening (for me at least), and if I had to recommend something by Harrison I'd suggest any one of his New Albion records -- whether large ensemble or small; that would be up to you.
