Harry Potter Chess Teacher

Got this as a birthday gift for a 9-year old Harry Potter fan. This set is great for those who haven't played in awhile, as well as those who have never played chess before. The board has two sides, including a student/beginner side with pictures to guide board set up. When you don't need that guidance, you can turn the board over to the other side without pictures. The set also includes cards for each player (a set for black and a set for white pieces) that show the piece and explains its moves. Stands for each piece are also included to show the number of spaces, and direction each piece can move. (They can be removed when you don't need the guidance anymore.) Instructions and guides were easy to understand for a 9-year old, and helped them pick up the rules and enjoy the game immediately. Great gift for a young chess player, a Harry Potter fan, or someone looking for a new game that is easy for kids and grown-ups!

I expected just a beginner’s board, but this set has two sides: a beginner side and a master side, both with numbers and letters on the board, which is great for learning and referencing moves. The master side looks clean and elegant, making the set feel more premium than expected. The pieces are sturdy, durable, and perfectly sized, not oversized like some collectible sets. At this price point, it’s hard to beat. The only minor downside is that the board may not be the most durable, but the design is excellent.

Not the best quality board, but you aren’t paying for the chess part. You are paying for the Harry Potter part of it. My Harry Potter fan daughter loves it. Best part is, each piece has the ways it can move on it. Great for my kids who are learning to play chess.

Love it! Kids love it too! So glad they made this set💯

Bought for my 4yr old grandson after he wanted to play with my expensive chess set. He plays checkers with it, likes the knights theme. I must admited pieces are detailed and look good. He's learning the names of the pieces and where they go.

Great set and helpful for young players.

I really love the pieces, the details, the fact that you can add or remove the directions so the set grows with them as they learn. My only issue is the board. I have that it comes folded in 4 and is nearly impossible to lay completely flat. Sometimes the ripple in the board causes the pieces to fall. A truly beautiful set, except for the board.

Grandson 12ish likes a lot.

I am very pleased with this purchase. I bought it for my niece for her birthday. She has always loved playing with my daughter’s wizard chess game and my kids always wrote out a “cheat sheet” of rules and how each piece moves for her to use. I liked how each have a the little base with arrows that show how the pieces can move that can come off once she gets the hang of it. This will be a great visual cue to remind her without making her feel dumb by having to check her notes or ask “Which way can this one move again?” The pieces are plastic and are hollow but they don’t feel flimsy. The board is fairly standard. We have owned board games with better thicker ones but again it doesn’t feel cheap or too thin. This is a great beginner set for fans of the Harry Potter world.

Upon reading review before purchasing, I had fear of missing queen for the chess piece. My fear came true and my black chess pieces had 2 kings instead of 1 king + 1 queen. I do not recommend this for you may get the roulette of disappointment. Maybe I can sew a mini skirt for the second king 🤔🤔🤔

Muy buena calidad, considerando el precio. Las piezas tienen buen tamaño y aunque son de plástico estan bien diseñadas .

ME ENCANTO, EXCELENTE CALIDAD Y PRECIO

It’s fantastic. My daughter is a huge Harry Potter fan, who can’t play chess. Got this for her and the cards are good for quick reference during the game. The manual is nice too. The pieces are just like the ones in the movie. Very fun, came on time, and nothing was damaged.
