Superb! Clearly alive and doing well. Well established, vigorous roots. Couldn’t be better.
I did a lot of research prior to selecting this type of strawberry. As it turns out, this variety across the board was more spending than others so I was concerned about the condition on arrival. I have never ordered bare root before. I already have a robust strawberry patch at the previous owner of my home put in and it produces very sweet but very small fruit so I wanted to mix it up. These arrived in a plastic bag with what I think was some sort of light soil or moss and slightly moist, but not wet. I received 26 plants instead of 25. They were all in excellent shape! I planned on putting them directly in the ground but the directions said to wait until I have a higher nighttime temperature so I planted them as instructed. Most of them had well developed very long roots. Much more than I expected. I did not have enough pots large enough, so I separated them by route length and put the longest roots in the bigger pots that I had. Unfortunately, I failed to take a photo of the package on arrival so all I can say is perfect condition no issues We have had an unusually warm winter in Idaho, so I expect by the time I can actually put these in the ground outside. They’re going to have a lot more growth sitting on my kitchen table. I DO NOT have a green thumb so if they all make it, it will be a fabulous outcome. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier. The product is better than I expected. Larger. More vigorous. Healthy and clearly alive and well. My transplanting… not so much. LOL!

Better then the home garden center! Great value - great packaging - just buy these already :D
Excellent - these arrived fresh & in great shape, well packaged and fantastic root systems. I didn't expect too much from just a bare root slip but these were absolutely fantastic and ready to go. They are a great value for the money as the local home center wanted a fortune for strawberry plants. I planted them the next day after receiving them, you do have to get slips into the ground promptly and not let them dry out and die but these are going to be fantastic int he garden and grow easily. Very happy! This particular cultivar, Seascape came highly recommended for my northern climate in Oregon (I didn't go with Hood, that's the PNW staple strawberry, but I wanted an every bearing fruit that was hardy and tasted great. ).

Best. Product. Ever.
I’ve purchased strawberry plants from Hand Picked Nursery twice now, and both experiences have been excellent. First Purchase: When I first bought their plants, I was completely new to gardening and accidentally planted the crowns too deep. Despite that mistake—and despite growing them under a regular household bulb with no proper grow light—they still managed to flower within a week. The plants were healthy and very easy to grow. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks later the flowers shriveled and the plants died, most likely because of my planting error, not the quality of the plants. Second Purchase: Since then, I’ve improved my gardening setup and skills. I ordered from Hand Picked Nursery again a couple of weeks ago, and they impressed me even more this time. They included an extra plant and even sent a double crown. These new plants are already starting to flower, and now I have the proper equipment to support them and (hopefully) harvest actual strawberries. Why I Keep Buying Here: The quality is consistently high, the prices are very reasonable, and shipping is affordable. I usually buy from Burpee, but their prices and shipping fees are much higher. Hand Picked Nursery gives me great plants without the extra cost. Overall, this is a fantastic product, and I plan to buy all my future strawberry plants from them. I will continue to edit this review to update the status of the plants!

Started out good then they starting dying off
Update: I have to recant my original review (below). Although I got one more root than expected, and the roots all popped up a leaf or two. All but one have died in the first few weeks. I have been gardening for over 50 years, and have a green thumb. I had a very well mixed sand/soil base topped with a soil made specifically for strawberries. I even used a fertilizer designed for strawberries. One plant survived of the 6 and I treated that plant exactly the same way as I treated the other 5. I ordered 5 roots, got 6 - I can't say that will happen to you, but it's always nice to get a bonus. 3 of the roots were already sprouting leaves when I got them. I was a little worried about the other 3 but they just took a week longer so I'm six out of six. I planted them in soil made for strawberries, and I'm using fertilizer made for strawberries as well. People ask me how all of my plants do so well, I feed them what they want and put them in the soil they like! This is a really good value compared to buying plants at the store, and you don't have to put them in a small pot and transplant them later, you can just put them in the soil. I'm caging mine because I live next to a forest so I can have all the berries for myself (the critters have plenty of food to eat in the forest!). I'm going to cover them in straw with a moisture barrier for the winter, so hopefully I can keep this crop going next year.

Pretty good
Most survived the transit and planting probably lost like 5 of 25. They survived a late frost and seem mostly healthy.

Healthy bare root strawberries
Very nice bare root strawberry plants. Planted them quickly after receiving them ( soak just the roots in water for about 30 minutes. Any longer could water log them.) I received 14 healthy plants but I wish the seller had marked the bags because I bought 3 different varieties. I had to count the plants to know which order was which. The young plants have only been planted a few days but it’s obvious they are doing very well so far. I got 3 varieties because I’m trying to find the most vigorous varieties for where I live.
