The raw material mother of pearl is cultivated in water so it is perfectly ok the tile is in constant contact with water,it can be used for a pool water line tile as long as it is not under heavy traffic,it is very thin and as thick as a dime,It mainly used as kitchen/bathroom backsplash

Picture is not true to actual tiles

I was really disappointed when I received this tile! It is all flat white and does not in anyway resemble the beautiful pearl gray mother of pearl color in the picture. It is also really thin! It is thinner than a mother of pearl button; so trying to use it with other tiles is difficult to say the least!!
