Three volumes in one! A prestige treatment of Inoue’s epic samurai series with bonus content, color pages, storyboard samples and more! Real-life figure Miyamoto Musashi was the most celebrated samurai of all time. The quintessential warrior-philosopher, Musashi authored A Book of Five Rings , a classic treatise in the canon of world philosophy and military strategy. But the path to enlightenment is an endless journey, and to get there through violent means--by way of the sword--makes mere survival an even greater challenge. Invincible Under the Sun At seventeen years of age, Miyamoto Musashi--still known by his childhood name, Shinmen Takezō--was a wild young brute just setting out along the way of the sword. In the aftermath of the epic Battle of Sekigahara, Takezō finds himself a fugitive survivor on the losing side of the war. Takezō's vicious nature has made him an outcast even in his own village, and he is hunted down like an animal. At this crucial crossroads in Takezō's life, an eccentric monk and a childhood friend are the only ones who can help him find his way. Review: Three volumes in one! Yay! - There is a fine line between a respectable warrior and a mere brute. Which one is Musashi going to be? Review: Edizione fantastica - Arrivato in anticipo sulla data stimata. Condizioni perfette. L’edizione è ottima: formato più grande di un classico volume “deluxe”, sovraccopertina semirigida non rimovibile, pagine a colori originali conservate… anche il prezzo è tutto sommato buono.

A masterpiece in the making.
Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue is a masterpiece in every sense of the word, not just in Manga, but in storytelling and production values in general. I rate it only behind Kentaro Miura's epic Dark Fantasy series Berserk and Fist of the North Star by Buronson and Hara in the history of Manga. Vagabond, set in the Sengoku era in Japan, is essentially an adaption of an adaption. Inoue's story is loosely based off the classic epic Mushashi by Eiji Yoshikawa, which is fictional account of the warrior philosopher Musashi Miyamoto. This 3in1 omnibus, and the series as a whole, deserves to be on your bookshelf. The characters are deep, while some could find Musashi's goal to be’ Invincible under the Sun’ as singular and base, I found it utterly fascinating and kept turning page after page even when my eyes were crying out for sleep! The story craft in Vagabond is great and the artwork is phenomenal, beautiful detail that comes alive off the page. The coloured sections are eloquent and stunning and I wish there was more to be had within. You can see, and feel, the history on the page before you as you will be truly absorbed in the events unfolding throughout as the Sengoku Era is brought to life like few others have achieved. I have always been huge fan of the Sengoku Era and Vagabond is arguably the best piece set in the era. Do yourself a favour and purchase this series. You will not be disappointed
