Animated Flying Bat Prop

We bought one of these years ago for our Halloween display and it lasted about 10 years with careful storage. It uses 2 AA batteries, and will run all night on fresh ones. A really big hit with the trick or treat-ers. Anyway, our old one gave up the ghost 2 years ago, so when this Halloween came around we looked for and found this one to replace it. It is the same product and works great. On a full battery, it flies in a circle over our heads (we have a high ceiling on our porch where the trick or treat-ers come it), I expect this one to last may Halloweens as well.

I tied heavy duty fishing line on this and threw it over a tree limb so I could raise and lower it on unsuspecting trick or treaters. This thing normally flaps its wings and makes a large circular motion but when you lower it suddenly it is like a bat swooping out of the sky to attack you! Loads of fun. However... let someone smack it and the wings break easily.

These are one of my favorite Halloween decorations. I have had others just like these and they are always a hit. The fact that the eyes light up and they fly around just fascinates the kids. I can't tell if they are staring at them because they think they are real but they won't take their eyes off of them as they approach my house. Unfortunately as with most inexpensive Chinese made products they have a limited life expectancy. You will get about 3 seasons out of them before they start having issues. Biggest problem is the swivel base. After time it doesn't rotate smoothly so they will not fly in a circle, just dangle and flap their wings (this can be fixed with a high quality fishing swivel). I had the pinion gear come off the motor of one which I repaired with crazy glue but not probably something everyone can do (pain to put back together). Also be prepared to use some AA batteries. You get about two hours of good fly time before the batteries weaken and they don't fly correctly.

I bought this for my neighbor, my friend. Her Halloween is like our Christmas. She starts decorating at the end of September. So of course I had to surprise her early. Her eyes lit up and she said she had one years ago but it was long gone and has been looking for one forever. Where did you get this as if she was 6 years old again. Amazon where else. She had that box opened in 12 seconds and had to steal batteries from the tv. remote. Her husband gave me a look and just put his head down because he knew he was done. She had it up and flying in the living room hanging from the fan. OMG it was awesome! Then I turned into a 6 year old too. She called everyone she new to come and see.That bat flapped his wings so hard you could feel the breeze. Oh the eyes were blinking red and if it made a sound I would have ran. She has gone crazy and so has everyone else! She brought it outside and used a fishing line and hung it onto a tree limb. It made a 6 foot circle and it was night time so it was so scary and so awesome. Those red eyes were so spooky and the old one just had white eyes. I wish this had white eyes so it didn't freak me out. What an amazing toy. I'm sure that every one went on line to get one too. The street will bring so many kids I ordered 60 candy bars from Amazon. It is so much fun. You have to buy one to see it for yourself. You will not believe it. Thanks, Florida Deb. To bad they don't have a flying flamingo she would have it out year round!

I got these for a physics class I teach. I purchased them earlier in the year, then set them aside until I was ready to do the class lab. That was my mistake. When I finally began to open and prep for the lab half of the bats I ordered did not function out of the box. I had to immediately order more bats as the return window had closed. The ones that work work fine. They are not well made and I anticipate some breaking once they hit the ground for the first time. I would order more, and have. I will learn from my lesson and not wait to open these. As soon as the replacement ones come in I will make sure all of the products work!

Very cute and amazing bat that flies in circle. It is quite loud.

For the price this little bat is great. It flaps it's wings, and the eyes are red LEDs that glow. The only issue is that when I first tried it, the wings would not flap. They seemed to be stuck. Turning OFF the power switch, and manually making the wings flap one revolution fixed the problem, and I never had another issue. It is a little noisy, but not a big deal.
